It’s the April Fool’s Day on the 1st of April. Jokes, gaiety, funny games and contests once again created a boisterous festivity in our small, but cozy home.

It’s becoming warm, trees and shrubbery are leafing out. The bright spring sun attracts the children outward. The children have a special liking for picnics outside.

May is the most complicated and the most joyful month during the school year for pupils.
It’s complicated because one should tighten up his studies, be anxious about his concluding marks. It was namely what our children did. But at the same time they were in a cheerful mood because everybody was waiting for the vacation. The longest and the merriest vacation during the year.

On the 3rd of March the children visited a holiday concert at the city’s Leisure Centre. The program there was devoted to the International Woman’s Day celebrated on 8th of March.

At the beginning of February the children began to prepare themselves for one more trip. They were invited by their friends from the village of Pozharskoye, the children studying in three village schools in the Bakhchissaray Region. This time the receiving party prepared for the children from Yevpatoria a special program called “The dances of the peoples residing in the Crimea”. And the visitors (the children from our Centre) presented them with gifts.

The most striking event in January was a trip to the boarding school with the Christmas concert program. Our children prepared an interesting program with songs, sketches and dances. All the children listened to the Christmas story and took part in the game called “Guess the melody”. Small spectators (there were about 200 children there) cheered to the echo and received presents at the end of the party.

Some photos and video films were shown to them. At their lessons of working education the children produced some articles (small frame for photos, Christmas cards) using the découpage technique.

During autumn vacation there were outdoor walks near Lake Moynaki where we sent up a kite and barbecued sausages.

The children paved the way for it and put into practice “The Day of Self-government. On that day the children replaced the adults and performed their duties cooking a meal, conducting lessons and holding contests.
A program “Norkanon” was realized as well as trainings on the subject “Contacts”.

After summer vacation the meeting at the centre was joyful and long-expected for the children. The kids had missed their friends and an agreeable atmosphere which exists in our centre. The children and the adults remembered their wonderful recreation and entertainment in the summer camp at the Sea of Azov. All together they looked through photos and saw videofilms.

The month of May wasn’t carefree for the children. The warm spring days were imbued with school troubles. Many children had to make up for the gaps in their knowledge and to catch up with their studies. The children study with difficulty, many of them are behind. The adults try to help them, to inspire them to study, to achieve a worthy place in their lives, to set a priority and spiritual values in their lives. But everyday problems and cares don’t prevent them from arranging holidays.

The month of April in our Centre began under the motto: “The April Fool’s Day lasts during the whole month of April”. Facetious inscriptions, caricatures, funny photos, a comic wall newspaper beautified the walls of our room. The children themselves prepared an April Fool's Joke concert programme with jests, songs, dances and even a fashion show.

The program of children’s staying at the Centre is being improved and elaborated on. Now it includes dinner, carrying out home tasks, reading books, choreographic studies, music lessons, dramatic art, a circle “Skilful Hands”, “A Biblical hour”, going out of town (games outdoors), games indoors, tidying up the adjoining territory, studies with a psychologist. The schedule also provides for nourishment (twice a day – dinner and supper) and taking a shower.

The Christmas program turn out well, too. The children with gusto put on a Christmas play and sang songs. This festive program was shown not only at our Centre. We were glad to show it in the boarding school in the village of Sokolinoye. But the main thing was that everyone got pleasure from the performance – our children and the children and the adults from the boarding school as well.

The lessons with the children are conducted from Monday till Thursday, from 3 p.m. till 7 p.m.
Every Wednesday the children with the adults spend much time outdoors, where they play and go in for sports.
Under the guidance of the adults the children are preparing for the New Year and Christmas. Many new songs are already learnt. Almost all the kids take part in a short performance called “The Christmas Story”.

Last week we finished the first stage of reconstruction of the future children center.
Some rooms are ready - kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and office. Furniture has been set, curtains have been hung, lamps have been lit - altogether it makes peculiar comfort for everyone who comes, kid or grown-up.

More than hundreds boys and girls from boarding school of Lozovoye, a village near Simferopol,
waited for a holiday. This holiday was made for them by street kids of Evpatoria, who come to us every day to eat,
communicate, make friends. During two weeks they were learning words of the script by heart, rehearsed, made their costumes.
They tried very much, and it turned out very well! Their faces were shining with happiness, because they shared it with others.
In the end of the party all children received Christmas gifts, and we all sank in the sea of joy.

At the boarding school in the village of Lozovoye, not far from Simferopol, more than a hundred boys and girls were waiting for the holiday. This holiday war arranged for them by street children from Yevpatoria who every day come to us to take some food, to rub shoulders with other kids, to make friends with them. During two weeks they learnt scenario, rehearsed, made costumes. They did their best and managed to realize it! Their eyes shone with joy because they could share their happiness with others! And after all everyone received a New Year present and all of us rejoiced in our jubilation.

Just several hours before the New Year, Sergey Karpenko and Yuri Krivoruchko visited orphans and families having many children. They brought gifts presented by ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) with them.

For many years the music group of "Ecclesiastes" has been visiting Scandinavia.
This year the new Russian-Ukrainian staff of the group has a trip for the purpose of raising money for the work among street children in Evpatoriya, Ukraine. This year trip has been planned from September 10 and till November 6, 2005. The concerts will be held both in Sweden and Norway. This trip is possible thanks to the good friend of "Ecclesiastes" - Bengt Goran Palmquist, who is a manager of the concerts. Please, pray about success of this trip.

At the end of the last year God gave us the opportunity to buy a basement in the downtown
of Evpatoriya, Ukraine for the organization a shelter for street children. In the February of 2005 we have started the
firs stage of the repairs of the basement. Now when new kitchen and dinning hall are ready we can start from the
September to feed street children in the shelter and don't pay any rent.
